Olympic ups and downs

Well today wasn't just a eventful day in my life but it was also a really eventful day in the Olympics.
This is mainly due to team GB's results in two events, Diving and Gymnastics.
Firstly came the diving where everyone was expecting a medal from Tom Daley (who is awesome) and Pete Waterfeild (I think that's his last name). The reason why this became a major event is mainly due to the fact that everything was going fine through the first 3 rounds of diving, we were going strong and were constantly (but narrowly) swapping 1st and 2nd place with china, as expected, but then we came to the 4th round and I'm not very sure what happened but I think that the main problem came with the syncronisation and we took a major point blow while the Chinese performed at their consistent level. Overall we ended up in a very close 4th.
But on a slightly happier note we got our first ever medal in men's gymnastics, even if it was a bronze but a medal is a medal. So overall today, I hope that the news will give the GB gymnasts the credit and coverage they deserve, while not focusing on Tom and Pete too much so they can try and figure this out without being bugged by the media. but there are always the individuals in the diving, so fingers are crossed for Team GB!

Shopping, shopping, and deer?

Well today certainly was quiet a eventful day,
first I had quiet a early start to go down town with my best friend where I ended up buying a dress and a skirt (which is a major shock for me), while my mum went to the doctor to get her foot checked up. When I came home my mum and dad ended up decided to make use of our membership to the National Trust and just told me that we were going to somewhere near Bath. We ended up going to Dyrham park which is a lovely house but my favorite part of the day was probably going around the grounds and looking out for the deer (which I managed to spot a lot of at the end of the day). Unfortunately I can't post any of the photos either here or on Facebook thanks to my silly camera's battery life but beggars can't be choosers.

Olympics

Well, last night was the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Ceremony and you may be wondering why I am a bit late in updating this, but I have a very good reason for this, the whole thing ended at around 1am in the morning, so I have managed to drag my self out of bed at about 11am, still half asleep :(
But I am warning you now, i am basically going to give you a play by play of both the best bits and the bits I can remember (so it may not be in the right order) , so this will be a very long post!

Right, moving on to my thoughts on the actual ceremony, at the very start of the ceremony, I was quiet confused as to why there were loads of sheep, clouds, and people who all look like they belong in Little bo peep, but then I spotted probably the best looking 'permanent' part of the ceremony, which was a large hill that you could walk up, and at the top was a Large tree (probable an oak tree). Soon the peaceful scene was interrupted by Brunel and the industrial revolution and these chimneys came out of the floor, which looked amazing, and they started to form 5 circles out of metal, these where then lifted up into the air to form the Olympic rings, and then some shower fireworks fell from them making them look even more bright, and amazing.
Another part was a tribute to the NHS, which I am very pleased to say, started with a reference to one of my favorite stories, Peter Pan, and all the rights belong to Great Olman street (sorry for spelling). Soon J.K.Rowling introduced the childrens literature portion, which tied in to the NHS portion, soon some famous villains, such as the child catcher, Hook, some black monkeys, and of course Voldemort, but they are all owned by loads of Mary Poppins'.
Soon there was a glimpse of the torch, being driven there on a speed boat by David Beckham and being carried by another sports woman.
Then we had a representation, through a modern day Cinderella, of how much Briton has changed, in both music and through the web and social communication, accompanied by the creator of the world wide web.
Then there was quiet a funny portion, where the Queen was apparently escorted to the ceremony in a helicopter by James Bond, and they also apparently para-shooted down from the helicopter, but the Queen just appeared walking down the steps. Another comedy part was where Rowan Atkinson appeared in the Orcestra on the keeyboared, during there rendition of Chariots of Fire, however all he had to do was press one key on the keyboard continously, so he soon dosed of an dreamed of running across a beach with alot of other athletes and how he could make sure he won.
One part that I both liked but was also confused by was where a current pop star (I don't follow pop stars so I don't know who it was) sang 'Abide with me' as a tribute to those who couldn't be there. But this was accompanied by a clever but quiet confusing dance routine.
Then we had the very, very, very long athlete march......... and we had to wait until the very end to see team GB but it was well worth the wait, especially to see who was there, quiet a few of the sub-teams in team GB decided not to go as they had events this morning, but I was queit surprised to see Tom Daley there (not that I'm complaining). Each countries flag was placed at some point on the hill, to accompany the Olympic and British flag, and each country was accompanied by a small child carrying a copper petal.
Then we found out that the 'final' torch barer was Steve Redgrave, but he then handed the torch over to about 6 or so young athletes who had been nominated by athletes such as Kelly Holmes, they then did a lap around the stadium, where the floor lighted up as they ran, then they went into the middle, which revealed almost a spider web, formed out of the copper petals, they then lit a few and they all lit one or two at a time, when they were all lit, the petals were lifted by these large wires, to form the actual cauldron. I always thought that the cauldron would be the tree at the top of the 'flag hill' as that is in queit a permanent place but this one was in the middle, so it may very well be moved to where the tree was in the opening ceremony.

Well that's my run through of the opening ceremony, sorry if I \didn't include everything, but that is pretty much most of it.

Bye.

Start of the summer! Kinda.... (25/07/2012)

Well the summer holidays are here, and so far nothing really special has happened, except for some long walks down town, .so far my summer has really just consisted of sitting on the sofa watching movies or walking around in the boiling hot weather. With brings me to the awesome weather that we have been having lately, for once the weather in Wales has been mostly just boiling hot sunshine (which is normally very rare in Wales) but today has been a lot more cloudy so it looks like we will be having a break from the whole two days of boiling sunshine. Luckily my mum has the week off from work next week so we may be going to some new places, which should be exited and include some long car drives (which I love because i get to just sit there listing to my MP3 Player). So next week I should have some much more interesting stuff to post.

Well lets try this again...

Right, first thing I guess I should say is Hi,

I am really terrible at stuff like this (this is actually my 3rd attempt at writing a blog) mainly as it takes me a long while to get into the habit of writing posts regularly, but I have been smart for once and I am starting this at the very start of the summer holiday so that should give me plenty of time to get into posting and give me some stuff to post about.
Just wanted to get a little 'heads up' to you guys up first and I will defiantly post a quick introduction to this new blog either later today or tomorrow.

Bye.
